SO Last night, I finally got to watch the movie Blood Diamond. I can't even be enthusiastic about it, cause it's not that type of movie. It's more like the subtle greatest fucking movie ever type shit. I hope it won plenty oscars. I really hope it did, because it deserves em'. Shit it deserves Peace awards. I mean, it put so much into perspective. I'm already in on some of the killings in Africa, i.e Save Darfur. But to think that's only ONE part of Africa, a wholeeee nother part, Sierra Leone, is being massacred.
Leonardo was excellent, I thought it was the cutest thing when he was speaking that broken language, sounded like creole/patwa. And I just couldn't understand why he gave up in the end, but then again I do. Maybe it's because I wanted him to live. And Djimon Hounsou, couldn't have done a thing better:
- When he strips down in the jail cell
- When stops his son from killing him and Leo
- When he finds out his son was taken
Props, props, and more props. My wedding ring will have a conflict-free diamond, and I put that on everything.
"Sometimes I wonder... will God ever forgive us for
what we've done to each other? Then I look
around and I realize... God left this place a long time ago"
