Whenever I look at the news and see all the deaths, crashes, and illnesses going on, I try to remember to pray for those people. And I think of how they're feeling at that moment. How do they cope with the death of a family member. How do they hold it together while seeing images steadily on repeat whether on TV or on online. As much sympathy as I have for those people, I would never want to have to sit in their shoes. But it's a little too late for that now. This is about my cousin... 24 year-old military solider, recently back from the Navy:

Authorities say two people have been killed early Sunday when their car collided with a public bus in Queens.

Police said both the car's occupants died at the scene of the crash shortly after 4 a.m. on Hillside Avenue near the Hillside area. A relative of the driver said he was 24-years-old and a member of the military. The relative also said his passenger was his best friend, and also in his 20s.

The identities of the victims has not yet been released. Firefighters said two other people have been taken to a hospital with injuries from the wreck, including the bus driver.Witnesses said the car was traveling very fast, before it collided with the MTA bus.

The wreckage was so severe, emergency crews had to use the jaws of life to rescue trapped victims. The bus appears to have been part of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Long Island Bus network.
